The COVID-19 epidemic resulted in increased inequality and unprecedented levels of unemployment worldwide, significantly affecting cities' socio-economic structure. As a result of the social isolation, quarantine, and other measures used to control the epidemic, as well as the problems that came with it, such as supply chain disruptions and limited access to food, healthcare, and green spaces, the structure of cities has been rethought, and the idea of "15-minute cities" has become very important. This concept introduces an innovative perspective on Chrono-urbanism, complementing previous ideas on smart cities, compact and dense urban environments, and the creation of secure, resilient, sustainable, and equitable cities. The fundamental concept of this city revolves around the notion that individuals should have the opportunity to reside in neighborhoods where essential amenities and services, such as supermarkets, educational institutions, shopping centers, dining establishments, and healthcare facilities, are conveniently accessible within a 15-minute walking or cycling distance. This study presents the notion and its associated concepts, including their genesis, purpose, and recommendations for future research.
