The increase in energy consumption in residential buildings in Tehran metropolis has made energy efficiency in buildings as a major issue for architects. In this regard, the materials used in buildings facades can have a significant effect on reducing energy consumption. This research is descriptive-analytical and survey in terms of methodology and aims to present and prioritize practical strategies for using new materials in residential buildings facades in Tehran city in order to manage energy consumption. The results of the research indicate that the "environmental" dimension with an average rank of 2.60 has the greatest impact from the perspective of managing energy consumption in residential buildings. Then, the "economic" dimension with an average rank of 1.82 and the "cultural-social" dimension with an average rank of 1.58, respectively, have the greatest impact after the "environmental" dimension in order to manage energy consumption through the use of new materials in the buildings facades. It is also suggested that during the design of a facade to manage energy consumption in a building, designers consider the localization factor and the cultural-social and indigenous characteristics of the region as a basic and primary factor in achieving the environmental goals of energy consumption management.
